CBT Toolbox

In this lesson, Shannon will show you how to use three popular cognitive behavior therapy based tools that are proven to help anxious children and teens cope with anxious moments:

  1. Body scanning: for moments when your child can step aside and calm themselves down
  2. Positive self-talk: for moments when anxiety is catching your child by surprise
  3. Name it to tame it: for moments when emotion is getting the best of your child and some grounding and perspective is needed

Lesson Goal: Practice using the tools and plan which tool to use during what type of anxious moment.
